Our Flashlight Maze is for you!
October 2,
2009
HUNTERSVILLE,
NC: Well known for plenty of daytime fun, the Rural Hill
Amazing Maize Maze offers special “Flashlight Mazes” on the
evenings of October 9, 23 and 30. “It is a thrill like no
other,” commented a maze traveler on the first Flashlight Maze
night of 2009. “We have come with a group of friends each year
to tackle the maze during the day, but we decided to come with
our flashlights this time and it has been a blast! We are
already planning to return in October and bring some of our
other friends to joint he group.” For the Flashlight Maze
events, tickets are available beginning at 6:30 PM and are sold
until 8 PM. Entrance into the Maze will be from 7-8 PM. If you
are in line at 8 PM, you are in! Admission to the Flashlight
Maze is $15.00 for ages 13+ and $10.00 for ages 5-12. Children
ages 4 and under are free. Bring your own flashlight!
The Rural Hill Amazing Maize Maze is a seven acre labyrinth with
approximately two and a half miles of
pathways in a working corn field. The Rural Hill Amazing
Maize Maze is designed to be completed in 1-2 hours and there
are volunteers and staff available to help. Comfortable
shoes are suggested. Water stations are set up throughout and
you may also bring in your own food and drinks.
This year’s Rural Hill Amazing Maize
Maze theme is ENERGY with a focus on solar energy, wind energy
and agriculture. Rural Hill wants to help educate about
the potential use of alternative
sources of energy that are used on farms and how long
that they have been used. Through a partnership with the
American Maize Company, Rural Hill grows its corn maze each year
for visitors to come out and experience the farm and have some
fun.

preservation of historic Rural Hill and its educational
programs. Rural Hill is a part of the
