COME PLAY IN OUR VEGETABLES!
THE 7TH AMAZING MAIZE MAZE AT RURAL HILL
SEPTEMBER 11 – NOVEMBER 2, 2008

HUNTERSVILLE, NC:  Close to home and ideal for those on a budget, the fun-filled Amazing Maize Maze at Rural Hill is back for its seventh season beginning September 11, 2008.  An exciting adventure for families, friends and groups, the Amazing Maize Maze at Rural Hill is a seven acre labyrinth with approximately two and a half miles of pathways in a working corn field.  Come and work together to explore the paths and solve the clues to make it through the maze.   Cool water is available throughout the maze and concessions are also available on site.  With Rural Hill volunteers and staff available to help when needed, the Amazing Maize Maze is designed to be navigated in 1-2 hours. The Amazing Maize Maze at Rural Hill is an imaginative use of a corn field so comfortable shoes are suggested.  Strollers and wagons are permitted and paths become smoother with use!

Each season a theme is selected for the Amazing Maize Maze, one that represents the historical relevance of Rural Hill. “This year’s maze theme is the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights,” explains Executive Director Ed McLean.  “Before you start your journey you will receive instructions from the First United States Congress regarding the rules and tools of this new frontier.  James Madison is at the Victory Bridge (which you will pass over upon completion) to help travelers in need and at the maze tower, Thomas Jefferson is available to point you in the right direction.”  This year’s design of the maze offers symbols within such as spectacles, a quill pen, ink well and the Constitution Scroll with “We the People” written on it.  Please visit our website www.ruralhill.net to see aerial views of past mazes and full details for planning your visit.

School groups are welcome and teachers’ guides are available. Guides include A More Perfect Union, America Becomes a Nation, the story of the US Constitution, with a DVD, lesson plans, handouts and activities.  Please call for additional information.
