Frequently
Asked Questions about the Maze
1. Are we allowed to
bring our dog?
Unfortunately because of the crowds, we do not permit any pets at the
Amazing Maize Maze, Service dogs excepted. If you want to bring your dog to
the site, they will be welcomed at the Annual Sheep Dog trials held on
November 7, 8, & 9, 2009.
2. How is your maze
constructed?
Our
maze is not constructed... it appears magically in the field... an Amazing
Maize Maze with about two and a half miles of pathways in a 7 acre corn
field.
The paths are
then lined with colored ribbon to help you get your bearing in the maze.
3. What should I wear
to go through the maze?
The
Amazing Maize Maze (TM) is an imaginative use of a corn field, but a working
corn field, nonetheless. Please note the rough terrain and be cautious as
you walk. Shoes are required; comfortable shoes suggested. Sun screen is
available. Insects are not usually much of a problem.
4. How long does it
take to complete the maze?
Depends on how good you are. Remember it's not the destination that counts,
it's the journey. There are 12 mail boxes locate in the maze, each mail box
has a puzzle piece in it, if you can find all 12 puzzle pieces you will have
a complete map of the maze. There are also 12 Kernals of Knowledge with fun
facts about the Liberty Bell and the people who fought for the cause of
Liberty in America. The Ultimate Challenge of course to the find all 12
puzzle pieces and all 12 Kernals of Knowledge. But you don't have to play
the Ultimate Challenge to have a good time. The maze is designed to be
completed in 45-90 minutes.
5. Can we take our
water into the maze?
Yes, and we also have several water stations throughout the maze. We have
also provided trash baskets at each water station to dispose of your plastic
water bottles.
6. What if we get
lost?
You
will!!! But with perseverance and a bit of deductive reasoning you will
solve the maze. Remember a good way to solve a problem is to ask someone
who knows more about the situation than you do. There will be many
opportunities to receive a little assistance.
7. Are your paths
paved?
No, it is an active cornfield (And yes, I have been asked that.)

harder and smoother.
